BPC-157 10 mg (Body Protection Compound-157) research-grade lyophilized peptide powder in a glass vial. Studied in preclinical models of tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, inflammatory signaling and gastrointestinal integrity.
Research Overview
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a gastric protein complex. In experimental models it is used to explore mechanisms of tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, inflammatory modulation and maintenance of gastrointestinal barrier integrity.
Primary Research Areas
- Tissue regeneration & repair: tendon, ligament, muscle and organ-healing models [1].
- Angiogenesis & microcirculation: studies on new blood-vessel formation and vascular support [2,4].
- Inflammation & cytoprotection: models of inflammatory signaling, cytoprotection and stress responses [3,6].
- Gastrointestinal & brain–gut research: experiments focused on gut barrier integrity and brain–gut axis mechanisms [3,6].
- Blood flow to healing tissue: BPC-157 relaxes blood vessels through nitric oxide, shown first in rat aorta and in 2026 in human internal mammary artery, the vessel surgeons use for coronary bypass. In rats with a blocked leg artery it also sped up the return of blood flow and increased VEGFR2, the main receptor for new vessel growth. Better blood supply is one likely reason for the healing effects seen in other models [2,4,5].
- Protection of the stomach during anti-inflammatory drugs: in rats it prevented the damage to stomach, intestine, liver and brain caused by diclofenac, given either by injection or in drinking water. [6]
- Bleeding and clotting: in rats given heparin, warfarin or aspirin, BPC-157 shortened bleeding time after amputation and limited the fall in platelets, without cancelling the anticoagulant activity of heparin. The result concerns bleeding control and an overlap with anticoagulant drugs, which has not been tested in people [7].
- Nerve and spinal cord recovery: after a crush injury of the rat spinal cord, one injection given ten minutes later improved tail movement, resolved spasticity within two weeks and reduced the loss of axons. This is the basis of the interest in recovery after nerve injury [8].

Recommended solvent — Bacteriostatic water
For diluting lyophilized peptide powders, use a sterile and suitable research solvent such as bacteriostatic water (BAC), which may help support handling stability and reduce contamination risk.
For convenient laboratory use, see Bacteriostatic Water – 10 ml.
