Pinealon 10 mg research-grade lyophilized peptide powder in a glass vial. This synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) is studied in experimental models of neuroprotection, oxidative stress suppression and cognitive function support.

Research Overview

Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide composed of Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR). It is used in experimental neurobiology to investigate neuroprotective mechanisms, suppression of reactive oxygen species, regulation of neuronal gene expression and cognitive-function models.

Primary Research Areas

• Neuroprotection & oxidative stress: Models showing Pinealon reduces ROS accumulation and protects neural cells from stress-induced damage [1,2].
• Cognitive function & learning models: Experimental studies in animal models where Pinealon supports memory retention, learning capacity and neuronal network resilience [2].
• Gene-expression regulation in neuronal tissue: Research into how Pinealon modulates gene expression related to neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity and aging in brain tissue [3].
• Coping with low oxygen: in a low-pressure chamber model of oxygen shortage, four short peptides showed protective effects and pinealon’s was the strongest; in prenatally stressed rats it worked by stimulating the animals’ own antioxidant enzymes rather than only mopping up radicals. Rats, and no human altitude or endurance data exist [4].
• Brain inflammation after oxygen loss: old rats were made acutely short of oxygen; pinealon brought their blood interleukin-6 and tumour necrosis factor down towards reference levels, which the authors read as less brain inflammation. A short Russian-language report, in old rats, with no behaviour or survival measured [5].
• Blood cell production in people: 32 people aged 41 to 83 took pinealon or a sister peptide; alongside the reported anti-ageing effect the authors found pro-oxidant activity and a fall in CD34-positive blood stem cells, which they read as blood-cell production being held back. No placebo group, and a signal worth knowing [6].
• Ageing markers in train crews: train crews took a 100 µg capsule of pinealon twice a day for two weeks and their scores on a battery of biological-age and adaptation measures improved. Swallowed, not injected, and biological age is a composite index rather than a clinical outcome, in a small occupational group [7].
• Mood in long-haul drivers: among 150 lorry drivers, who had more anxiety, low mood and exhaustion than 150 metalworkers, peptide treatment improved psychological measures and lowered the risk of borderline mental disorders. The best result came from pinealon combined with a second peptide, so pinealon alone was not the thing tested [8].
